The events from the field of aquatic life sciences and aquaculture gathered under the name of ACVAPEDIA, as always is taking place every year in a different European city. Started in 2008 in Bucharest, and then continued throughout major Romanian cities, the event will be placed this year in Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia, a small country but with a very high respect for fish fauna. Rogaška Slatina is a synonym for health-resort tourism in Slovenia and threoughout Central Europe. For centuries the curative mineral water rich in magnesium, the picturesque countryside, and other local attractions have attracted visitors to the area. Roman inscriptions referring to the spa waters have been found.

Acvapedia 2014 is offering you next to a scientific symposium of high class in the area of aquatic life sciences, also the oportunity to visit some important aquaculture facilities from Slovenia and also from Croatia.

Acvapedia 2014, is composed from three Sections:

  • Aquatic life sciences
  • Aquaculture
  • Field trip to amazing destinations in Slovenia and Croatia -

In the first day of the conference, research papers will be presented. The scientific papers will be published in the AACL-Bioflux Journal, after a throughout review.

In the second day, internationaly known aquaculture specialists will have lectures on most recent inovations, presenting trends in technology, new market aspects and so on. This part addresses next to the scientists also to the investors in aquaculture and all those that have relations with aquaculture (farmers, dealers, etc). It is a big opportunity to get in contact with these specialists. Questions and debates are welcomed since Acvapedia intention is to be as interactive as possible between participants and the aquaculture specialists from Israel, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Romania.

The third and fourth days are reserved to the field trips. Participants are welcomed in a tour in Slovenia and the nearby country Croatia. The tour is aiming for Slovenia's most interesting fish farms, on the coast line and also inland aquaculture facilityes. The participants will also have the chance to visit Croatia a country that has a huge potential for aquaculture of all types, where farmers grow autochtonous species but also exotic ones with high economic value.
